Imagin Lab offers an in-person VEX IQ Robotics Coaching Program for students aged 8–11 who are interested in robotics, engineering, and technology. This hands-on program introduces students to the fundamentals of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through exciting robotics challenges and team-based projects.
Students will learn how to design, build, and program robots using the VEX IQ robotics system, a platform created specifically for elementary and middle school learners. The system uses snap-together mechanical parts, motors, sensors, and a programmable robot “Brain”, allowing students to build complex robotic systems without tools.
The program runs for 35 weeks and provides a structured learning pathway from beginner robotics concepts to competition-level robot design.
During the program, students will:
Learn mechanical engineering fundamentals by building different robot mechanisms
Explore electronics and sensors used in robotics systems
Develop programming skills using beginner-friendly block coding and advanced coding options such as Python or C++
Practice iterative design and problem-solving by testing and improving their robots
Work in teams to develop collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
Prepare for robotics competitions and engineering challenges
The program emphasises learning through experimentation and real-world problem solving, helping students gain confidence in technology and innovation.
This program helps students:
Build confidence in technology and engineering
Develop logical thinking and creativity
Learn future-ready STEM skills
Experience real robotics competitions
Connect with a community of young innovators
Educational robotics programs like VEX are widely used worldwide because they provide engaging, hands-on ways for students to learn engineering and technology concepts while encouraging creativity and collaboration
